The adult team is drawn from the 4 churches of our benefice, which fall under Jonathan Eades’ leadership and is quite large, also including some teenagers from the churches who act as helpers.
We hold four activity days each year, one in each of the churches of the Benefice.
The activity days are for children aged between 5 and 11, open to all children living in these communities; providing a safe and secure environment, where they can enjoy working and playing together and develop new friendships. We explore a different Biblical theme each time, through craft, games, music, drama and stories.
Parents and other family members are invited to an end of activity celebration and tea, taking the form of a Sunday afternoon service which members of all 4 churches also attend. The children have a central part in the service, demonstrating the learnt skills and outcomes from the previous day.
Please note the change of time for our final Activity Day of the year:
Saturday 3rd December 1-5pm at St John’s Church, Ashley
Sunday 4th December 4pm Benefice Family Christingle Service, also at St John’s Church, Ashley

This year we have also introduced Family Showstoppers!
This is an opportunity for the whole family to join members of the Showstoppers team as well as other folk from our church communities, in an afternoon of fun, with refreshments and a short act of worship, though for these events, children MUST be accompanied by an adult please.
We hold these approximately once a month, visiting each of the parishes in turn, and so far have organised quizzes, indoor games and a pancake party.
We hold these approximately once a month, visiting each of the parishes in turn, and so far have organised quizzes, indoor games, tennis afternoon and a pancake party. Our final event of the year was a film afternoon on November 12th which young and old alike enjoyed! We shared tea together during the interval and the afternoon closed with a short Act of Remembrance. Our thanks to St Mary’s school Mucklestone for the use of their premises.
We are busy planning events for next year so watch this space!
