Oakley has sponsored trout fishing on its lake for nearly thirty years. Unfortunately, 2011 was stricken by record low water levels in the River Tern. This lack of water made the lake all but un-fishable.

An effort is, however, now being made to re-launch fishing with effect from 15 March 2012. Our past members have traditionally been from the local community and we would like to maintain this client base. To this end we are sponsoring a public gathering at the Hall with light refreshments on 11 March 2012 at 3:00 pm. Everyone is invited.

Visitors are also welcome to walk the grounds of the Hall and view the lake and its boat house. Attendance and refreshments are free, although the syndicate will help in raising funds for the Knighton Village Hall.
